Tia Rupnik Named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College volleyball player Tia Rupnik was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Tuesday for helping lead the Foresters to a 3-2 record in the previous seven days.
Rupnik, a senior libero, started the week with 16 digs in the Foresters' three-set loss at Wheaton College. She also added two kills and two assists on the night.
Lake Forest defeated Rockford College in three sets and Manchester College in four at Aurora University's Jim Coleman Memorial Invitational on Friday. Rupnik had a dozen digs in the first match and 23 in the second. She also served up a pair of aces in each contest.
Rupnik finished Saturday's five-set loss to Roosevelt University with 29 digs and tallied 26 in a three-set win over Aurora. She also had seven assists on the day and was named to the all-tournament team.
Rupnik leads the Foresters with 165 digs this season. She ranks seventh in team history with 1,241 digs in her career.
