The Forester women's tennis team defeated visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College 9-0 on Monday to raise its record on the season to 6-1. Freshman Nicole Stroner did not lose a game in her matches at #3 doubles and #6 singles.
Stroner teamed with senior Natalie Atroshenko for the 8-0 victory at #3 doubles. Sophomore Melika Celebic teamed with junior Nonie Carson on an 8-1 triumph at #1 while the #2 tandem of freshman Aimee Fadden and senior Deepika Ramachandran prevailed by the same score.
Senior Lauren Stroner matched her younger sister's perfect 6-0, 6-0 score at #4 singles and Celebic nearly did the same at #1, where she won 6-1, 6-0. Carson posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory at #2 and Ramachandran won both sets 6-3 at #3. Atroshenko prevailed 6-3, 6-0 at #5.
Lake Forest will play its entire Midwest Conference South Division schedule this weekend. The Foresters will play at Monmouth College at 11:00 Saturday morning and at Knox College at 3:00 that afternoon. The team will then take on Grinnell College at 9:30 Sunday morning and Illinois College at noon. Those matches will be played at Monmouth.
