Freshman Morgan Pope (pictured) scored two goals and sophomore Maeve Connelly added her second game winner in as many games as the Lake Forest women's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a 4-1 win on Saturday at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
Trailing 1-0 after the first period, Lake Forest (6-2-1, 5-2-0 NCHA) tied the game at 4:54 of the second period on Pope's first goal of the game. Just 49 seconds into the third period, the Foresters took a 2-1 lead on Connelly's second game winner of the weekend. Lake Forest added insurance goals at 7:08 and 19:00 by Laura Reckdenwald and Pope to close out the scoring.
Reckdenwald scored on a scramble in front of the net while Pope tipped in her second goal off a screen and a shot from the blue line by Torey Crown.
Slinde also assisted on Pope's second goal of the game and finished with two assists.
