College Sports Communicators Announced the 2022-23 Academic All-America® Teams for women's swimming and diving on Monday and Lake Forest College's Violet Anderson was a second team selection.
To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must be the equivalent of starters or important reserves and have competed in at least half of the team's contests. They must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at their current institution and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Anderson finished her collegiate career by earning her second Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Year award at last month's MWC Championship Meet. She repeated as league champion in the 200-IM and 200-butterfly and anchored the Foresters' 400-freestyle relay, which closed out the meet with another first-place finish. Anderson is now a 12-time champion with eight victories in individual events and four in relays, despite the conference meet being held just three times during her career.
A two-time team Most Valuable Performer, Anderson owns school records in the 100- and 200-butterfly and ranks third in program history in the 200-IM. She was also part of team record performances in the 200-freestyle, 200-medley, and 400-medley relays. Her 100-butterfly mark of 56.67 seconds is also tied-for-first in MWC history while the Foresters' mark in the 200-freestyle relay is also the league's best.
Successful in the classroom as well, Anderson has earned Academic All-MWC honors each year the award was presented and was named to the Forester All-Academic Team in 2021-22. The chemistry major entered her final semester at the College with a cumulative grade point average of 3.98.
