Lake Forest College senior swimmer Helena Blumenau was named MWC Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in the Foresters' dominate win of the four-team Gene Davis Invite on Saturday.
Blumenau won all four events she was entered in during the meet. The senior also led off the 200-medley relay to start the meet. She touched the wall first in both of her individual events, winning the 200-IM (2:15.79) and 200-backstroke (2:12.64). Blumenau capped off the competition by anchoring and swimming the Foresters' fastest leg in the 400-free relay. Both relays she was on beat their closest competitors by nearly seven seconds.
The Lake Forest women won the meet with 784 points; second place finished with 445.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Blumenau earned the distinction once before on November 9, 2021.
