The Lake Forest College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to visiting Wabash College on Saturday at the Raquet Club of Lake Bluff. Forester sophomore John Adams was one of two players on the team to win twice on the day.
Adams and junior Elliot Muth ran their doubles winning streak to six matches with an 8-5 victory at #1. Freshman Ryan Kreis and senior Jon Flaksman prevailed 8-1 at #2 for their fourth win in a row.
A third-set tiebreaker was needed to decide each of the matches at the top four spots in the singles lineup and the teams split the four contests. After falling 7-6 (7-4) in the first set at #1, Kreis blanked the top player from Wabash 6-0 in the second set and won the third-set tiebreak 10-3. Adams also dropped the first set (6-3) before winning the second 6-2 and the tie-break 10-2.
Lake Forest fell to 7-4 on the season while Wabash raised its record to 11-5.
The Foresters' next opponent will be Ripon College and the match will be played next Saturday at noon on the Lake Forest College tennis courts.
