The Lake Forest College men's tennis team won 5-4 at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday, raising its record on the season to 5-3. Forester junior Elliot Muth won at #1 doubles and #2 singles for the second straight match.
Muth and sophomore John Adams eeked out an 8-6 victory at the top spot in the doubles lineup. It was their second 8-6 triumph in a row. Freshman Ryan Kreis and senior Jon Flaksman won by the same score at #2.
Kreis and Muth also won at #1 and #2 singles, respectively. Kreis routed Mary Hardin-Baylor's top player 6-1, 6-0 while Muth needed a little longer to secure a 6-3, 6-4 triumph. Senior Chris Paterakos registered a 6-4, 6-3 victory at #5.
Adams owns the team's best singles record with a 6-2 mark on the season while Kreis and Flaksman are close behind at 5-3. Muth and Adams are the squad's top doubles tandem with a 6-2 mark at #1.
The Foresters are now 2-2 on their Spring Break trip to Texas and will travel to Southwestern University on Friday to take on Schreiner College at 10:00 a.m. and the hosts at 3:00 p.m.
