The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released its 2013 All-Region teams on Wednesday and Lake Forest College's Michelle Greeneway was a First Team All-North Region selection while teammate Holly Lesperance earned Second Team honors.
Greeneway, a sophomore forward, established a new team record with 25 goals and 55 points this season. She scored at least once in 13 of 18 appearances, posted seven multi-goal games, and recorded five hat tricks, including three in a row and four in a five-game span. Greeneway finished fifth in the nation in goals per game and sixth in points per contest. Her 41 career goals and 95 points in just two seasons already rank third in program history and she is tied for second with 10 career game-winning goals, including six this year. She will now appear on the All-American ballot.
Lesperance, another sophomore forward, was second on the team with 11 goals and 27 points. She became the first Forester in four years to score four goals in a game at Ripon College on October 5 and she had at least one point in 11 contests. Lesperance moved into a tie for 14th place in team annals with 63 career points on 26 goals and 11 assists after just two years. She is also tied for second in program history with 10 game-winning goals. It was her second NSCAA All-North Region honor, having been named to the First Team in 2012.
Greeneway and Lesperance were also named First Team All-Midwest Conference on November 20 after helping lead Lake Forest to a 13-5-1 overall record and 7-2-1 mark in league play this fall.
