Senior Chase Garber was one of three Foresters to win twice in the team's first Spring Break match, a 6-3 victory over Millikin University at Hilton Head High School in South Carolina.
Garber and freshman Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk starter the contest with an 8-6 victory at the top spot in the doubles lineup. Lake Forest freshman Jacob Tilton and junior Brant Christensen won by the same score at #2 and the #3 tandem of sophomores Zach Cho and Pratheek Mandalapu completed the sweep with an 8-5 triumph.
Vyshyvanyuk took both sets 6-2 at #1 singles, giving the Foresters a 4-0 lead. After a Big Blue win at #2 Mandalapu clinched the victory for Lake Forest with a 6-4, 6-3 decision in his favor at #3 and Garber prevailed by the same score at #4.
The Foresters improved to 5-4 on the season while Millikin fell to 1-6.
After a day off from competition, Lake Forest will take on LeTourneau University Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 (ET).
