Alex Simmons joined the Lake Forest coaching staff prior to the 2023-24 academic year.
In June of 2023 Simmons signed a two-year contract to play for Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). He had been drafted fourth overall by the team in the first round of the 2022 NLL Draft.
Simmons spent 2022-23 as a graduate student at Syracure University and finished with 36 points on 21 goals and 15 assists in 15 games for Orange in 2023. He played the previous four years at the University of Denver, where he racked up 129 points on 81 goals and 48 assists, splitting time between midfield and attack. Denver was 35-18 overall and 17-3 in the Big East during his career.
A native of Smithville, Ontario, Simmons attended Culver Military Academy, where he helped lead the boys lacrosse team to a national title.
