The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the 2014-15 NABC Honors Court, which included Lake Forest College's Brian Madson, Chase Janer, and Mason Zuniga.
Madson, who graduated from the College in May, is also a three-time Academic All-Midwest Conference honoree and was a team captain the last two seasons. Janer and Zuniga, a pair of guards who will be seniors in 2015-16, were also named Academic All-MWC for the third time earlier this month and Zuniga earned a spot on the Forester Fall Semester All-Academic Team for posting the squad's highest grade point average last fall.
The NCBA Honors Court recognizes those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season and a record number of 1,000 student-athletes from more than 350 colleges and universities were listed this year. The NABC Honors Court highlights the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2014-15 academic year.
Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
