Avonts and Jespersen Named to ACM Invitational All-Tournament Team

Lake Forest College volleyball players Brittany Avonts and Paige Jespersen were named to the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament Team on Monday. Two players from each of the six participating schools were selected to the team.
Avonts, a sophomore middle blocker, led Lake Forest with 49 kills and 16 blocks and posted a .418 hitting percentage in the weekend's four matches combined. Her best statistical performance came in a four-set loss to Macalester College on Sunday when she tallied 18 kills without an error, recorded a .581 hitting percentage, and added five blocks and a pair of aces.
Jespersen, a sophomore outside hitter, was next on the team with 34 kills and she led the squad with six aces on the weekend. She posted double-doubles in both matches on Sunday, finishing the team's four-set win over Luther College with a dozen kills and 14 digs and the loss to Macalester with a career-high 13 kills and 11 digs. She also had three aces in each match.
The Foresters went 1-3 on the weekend. In addition to Sunday's results against Luther and Macalester, Lake Forest fell in three sets to Carleton College and in four to host Grinnell College on Saturday.
