Ed Kositzki

  • Title:
    Assistant Coach
"I coach at Lake Forest because I live in town and love the philosophy behind Division III. I believe it is the purest form of athletic competition in college. I coach because it allows me to give back to my sport all that was passed on to me by dedicated coaches who share my beliefs.  I believe in the creed that student-athletes are students first and athletes second and that, through an education, they secure their future for the rest of their lives and mold their character through athletic competition."
- Assistant Women's Soccer Coach Ed Kositzki

The 2023 season will be Ed Kositzki's 13th as an assistant with the Forester women's soccer program and 26th as a coach at the College. He works primarily with the team's forwards and midfielders.

Lake Forest is 128-68-17 overall and 70-21-10 in Midwest Conference play during Kositzki's 12 years as an assistant. The Foresters have claimed three league titles and advanced to a pair of NCAA Division III Tournaments during his time on staff.

Forester forwards and a midfielders have earned 17 First Team All-MWC honors and six second team selections since Kositzki joined the program. They have also garnered a pair of MWC Offensive Player of the Year awards and two forwards have earned All-American accolades from the United Soccer Coaches. The Foresters shattered the school record with 79 goals in 2014 and have averaged more than 44 scores over the last 11 full seasons.

Kositzki was the Forester men’s soccer team's head coach from 1994 to 2006. In that 13-year span he led the squad to 10 appearances in the four-team MWC Tournament and a pair of league championships. He retired as the second winningest coach in the program's storied history with a 137-74-9 record.

Among the many indivudals to play for "Coach K" during his 13 years as the College's men's soccer coach was the current head coach of the women's team, T.R. Bell.

Kositzki brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program along with a USSF National "A" Coaching license.

Ed and his wife Rita reside in nearby Lake Bluff.
