Katie Neher Earns Second MWC Performer of the Week Award this Season

Lake Forest College women's basketball player Katie Neher was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday after leading her team to a 95-89 overtime victory over Luther College on Sunday.
Neher's 37 points in the contest are the fifth-highest single-game total in program history and the most by a player from the MWC so far this season. The senior guard shot 12-for-21 from the field, 3-for-7 from three-point range, and 10-for-14 from the foul line in the contest. She also grabbed six rebounds, dished out five assists, and recorded a season-high six steals.
The Foresters trailed Luther 45-20 at halftime and the deficit reach 26 points early in the second half. Neher scored 11 points in the third quarter and 15 in the fourth, including two on a game-tying basket in the final five seconds of regulation. She added six more points in overtime as Lake Forest outscored the Norse 16-10 in the game's final five minutes.
The game was part of the Big Island Holiday Classic in Hilo, Hawaii. The Foresters will take on Worcester State University Monday afternoon at 1:30 (HT) in their other game at the event.
Neher leads the league with 22.7 points per game so far this year. She also ranks tied-for-sixth in steals per game, eighth in assists per contest, and 17th in rebounding.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Neher also earn the award on November 21.
