Lake Forest College diver Heath Ogawa was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after winning three times and breaking a school and conference record over the weekend.
Ogawa helped lead the Forester men to a victory at the seven-team Gene Davis Invitational at Lawrence University on Saturday. The senior started the day with a first-place finish and score of 541.10 in the 3-meter competition. He then took the 1-meter event with 575.80 points, the highest 11-dive total in Lake Forest College and Midwest Conference history and more than 55 points more than the runner-up.
On Sunday the Foresters competed on the third and final day of the University of Chicago's Phoenix Fall Classic. In his third 11-dive performance of the weekend, Ogawa posted another victory and score of 462.65 off the 1-meter board to remain undefeated on the season.
Ogawa was named MWC Performer of the Week for the ninth time in his career on Tuesday.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Ogawa also earned the award three times as a freshman and twice each of the last two seasons.
