Lake Forest College swimmer Sebastian Wagoner was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in a dual meet at Carthage College on Saturday.
Wagoner, a freshman,swam in a pair of individual events in his collegiate debut, winning the 500-freestyle and placing third in the 200-freestyle. His 500 time of 4:57.04 was just .04 seconds ahead of the runner-up from Carthage and the fastest mark in the conference on the young season. He completed the 200 one-hundredth-of-a-second behind the winner in 1:50.34, which ranks third in the league.
Wagoner also helped lead Lake Forest's 400-medley (3:44.58) and 200-freestyle (1:30.88) relay teams to second-place finishes and the top times in the conference so far this season.
