The Lake Forest College swim teams swept a double-dual at Soka University on Saturday. The Forester women defeated the hosts 68-26 and Willamette University 74-21 while the men posted 66-28 and 64-30 victories over the same two teams, respectively. Lake Forest won 12 of 22 events on the day, including all four relays.
Three Foresters were part of three winning performances on the day. Junior Becky Shaak was part of the victorious 200-medley relay team before finishing first in the 100-butterfly (1:06.86) and 100-breaststroke (1:11.34). Sophomore Garr Punnett and freshman Kevin Barbrick helped Lake Forest's win the 200-medley and 200-freestyle relays. Punnett also touched the wall first in the 200-freestyle (1:48.98) and Barbrick in the 100-breaststroke (1:02.92).
Junior Kelsey Hoeper and sophomore Loren Dutca joined Shaak on the 200-medley relay and also made up half of the Foresters' winning 200-freestyle relay team. Freshman Kelsie Miller was the fourth member of the women's 200-medley relay and junior Meghan Pason and sophomore Jill Pastick completed the 200-freestlye relay. On the men's side, Punnett and Barbrick were joined by junior Diego Ledesma on both relays, sophomore David Albion in the 200-medley, and sophomore Zach Wenner in the 200-freestyle.
Wenner also won the 100-butterfly in 54.49 seconds and Pastick prevailed in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:37.33. Additional victories were recorded by sophomore Sarah Stoklosa in the 1000-freestyle (11:42.20) and junior Alex Marks in the 50-freestyle (24.08).
The Foresters will be participating in two different meets next weekend. The divers will compete in the University of Chicago Invitational on Friday and Saturday while the swimmers will travel to Wheaton College for the Illinois-Michigan Quadrangular on Saturday (1:00 p.m.).
