Lake Forest College men's soccer player Szymon Mocarski was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday after stopping 9 of 10 shots on goal in a pair of appearances last week.
Mocarski, a junior goalkeeper, played the first half of Tuesday night's loss at North Park University, the fifth-ranked team in the nation. He did not surrender a score and made five saves in the half.
The Foresters opened league play with a 2-1 triumph at Lawrence University on Saturday and Mocarski was in goal for the entire contest. He added four saves to his stat line and earned the victory, evening his record on the season at 1-1-0.
Mocarski now owns a 0.50 goals against average and .900 save percentage on the year.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Mocarski is the first Forester men's soccer player to receive the honor in 2022.
