Lake Forest College freshmen midfielders Mario Florio and Grant Pedersen were named Midwest Lacrosse Conference Offensive and Co-Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, on Monday.
The Foresters posted a pair of convincing victories last week, defeating Concordia University Chicago 19-5 at home on Wednesday and prevailing 14-1 at Beloit College on Saturday.
Florio scored once against Concordia Chicago and seven times at Beloit. His goal total on Saturday was the highest by a Forester since the program returned to varsity status last year.
Pedersen also scored a goal on Wednesday and helped anchor a defense that allowed just 24 shots attempts in two games. He was also 10-for-15 on face-offs and a significant contributor to the team's 19-for-21 performance on clearing attempts for the week.
Lake Forest is now 3-0 and has outscored opponents 52-7 on the young season.
MLC Players of the Week are selected by the league's head coaches.
