The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association announced its end-of-season awards for the men on Wednesday and a pair of Foresters were recognized for their performance during the 2022-23 season.
Sophomore defenseman Matteas Derraugh was named All-NCHA after leading players at his position with 15 points in conference play, despite missing two games. He finished with six goals and 14 assists in 23 contests overall and led Lake Forest in plus/minus at +16. Derraugh is the fifth Forester since 2010 to earn NCHA All-Freshman Team and All-NCHA honors during his career.
Freshman forward Colin Bella was selected to this year's NCHA All-Freshman Team after tying for 13th in the conference with 9 goals and 20 points during league games. He also tied for fifth in the NCHA with five power play goals. In 27 games overall, Bella led Lake Forest with 14 goals, 26 points, 7 power play scores, and 3 game-winners.
The Foresters finished the season with an 11-12-4 overall record and placed seventh in the NCHA standings at 7-8-3 in league play.
