The 2022 D3football.com Preseason All-America Teams were released on Monday and a pair of Forester seniors were named to the First Team.
Cornerback Dante Esposito is coming off a breakout performance in 2021 when he tied for third in the nation with a school record-tying eight interceptions. He also made 25 tackles and ranked among the national leaders in passes defended. Esposito was named Midwest Conference Defensive Skill Most Valuable Player and a D3football.com Second Team All-American after the season.
Wide receiver A.J. Jackson was D3football.com's First Team All-American kick returner each of the last three years and is now a three-time First Team Preseason All-American selection as well. He was the nation's top punt returner for the second time in 2021, averaging 27.6 yards per attempt. He also led the country with four punt return touchdowns and now has an NCAA Division III record eight in his career.
Lake Forest was one of five programs in the country with a pair of First Team Preseason All-American selections, joining 2021 national champion University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, runner-up North Central College, semifinalist University of Mount Union, and fellow NCAA Playoff team Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
D3football.com has now named Preseason All-America Teams each of the last 23 years.
