Lake Forest College women's tennis player Margaret Bugnacki was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in a pair of league matches over the weekend.
Bugnacki was nearly perfect in the Foresters' 9-0 sweep of Cornell College on Saturday. She teamed up with fellow junior Maria Jose Campos on an 8-1 victory at #1 doubles before blanking her #2 singles opponent 6-0 in both sets.
Lake Forest was defeated 7-2 by Grinnell College on Sunday and Bugnacki was once again 2-0 on the day. She and Campos began the match with an 8-6 triumph over the Pioneers' top doubles team. After dropping the opening set 6-3 in singles, she won the second 7-5 and the third set super tiebreaker 10-7 for the victory.
Bugnacki is now 27-8 in singles and 25-11 in doubles in her career.
