The student-athlete experience at Lake Forest College is more than just practice and competition, and this year extends across the country and, in some cases, around the world. Forester teams are like families and their members support each other and the community in numerous ways.
This fall, student-athletes at the College are attending classes remotely, finding ways to keep in touch with one another, and continuing to be active and successful Foresters. The "Highlights from Home" series gives them an opportunity to share their experiences.
Today's upate on the women's basketball team comes from senior forward Delaney Sjong.

As a team, we have been texting and facetiming each other to keep in touch! We have had team meetings over zoom and one where we used Jamboards to get to know each other better. It was a great way for us to know more about the freshmen while not being able to see each other in person. |

Some of us got new jobs during this time away from campus. Kelsey Burton and I (pictured together at last year's speed networking event on campus) have been working at retail stores during our new free time. It is a great way to keep busy and a get a routine during these crazy times. |

A few of our juniors have been able to see each other and visit each other on weekends. Kara Schoenlein, Maddie Glennon, and Ely Dobrodt have stayed in great touch and made sure they found some time for a couple little roadtrips. |

Two of our sophomores have been recovering flawlessly from their knee surgeries last season. Annie Lally and Katie Fagan have been working out and getting ready for a comeback season! Katie has also been able to find some time to connect with nature before the midwest fall sets in and Annie has been applying to internships during this time. |

A lot of our teammates mention that it is sometimes overwhelming to keep up with classes while being online. Some manage their time by making sure they set a schedule and plan their days ahead of time. |

One of our teammates even got a job that she has been striving towards. Maggie Kersting has been working as a kindergarten assistant during this semester. She loves kids and has been able to manage her time well with classes and this job! |

Some of our freshmen have been getting know each other better by facetiming and texting. They all say they are super excited and ready to be on campus! |

A lot of us have been working out any way we can. Maurissa Edwards says that she cycles and goes on runs to stay in shape. Katie Neher has been able to access her local Y to get some shots up. |

Overall, our team is doing the best we can with staying ready for the season that is quickly approaching and cannot wait to finally get together! |
