The Forester men's tennis team hosted and defeated North Central 5-4 on Saturday. Lake Forest sophomore Anthony Warren was one of three players on the team to win twice on the day.
Warren and fellow sophmore Ryan Kreis posted an 8-4 victory at #1 doubles, giving the Foresters a 2-1 lead after double play. Junior John Adams and senior Nick Cantor had also won their match 8-3 at #2.
The teams split the six singles matches, with Lake Forest winning the first three that finished. Warren prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at #4 and Kreis, the 11th-ranked player in the Central Region, routed North Central's top singles player 6-1, 6-1. Adams clinched the team victory for Lake Forest with his 6-2, 6-3 win at #2. It was his ninth consecutive singles victory and the 98th win of his career in singles and doubles combined.
It was the final dual match of the year for Lake Forest, which is now 8-9. The Cardinals fell to 3-11.
The Foresters will close out the season at the Midwest Conference Tournament next weekend. The six positional singles tournaments will be played on Saturday and the three doubles brackets will be played out on Sunday.
