Men's basketball player Jim Schick was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after recording double-doubles in both of the team's games in the previous seven days.
Schick, a sophomore forward, started the week with a 16-point, 16-rebound performance in the team's 70-53 victory over Illinois College at home on Saturday. He shot 7-for-11 from the field in the contest, seven of his rebounds came at the offensive end of the court, and he added four assists and a blocked shot.
Lake Forest dropped a 106-103 double-overtime decision at Ripon College on Tuesday and Schick finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. He shot 8-for-13 from the field and 4-for-5 from the foul line while adding three assists on the night.
Schick leads the Foresters with 15.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game so far this season. He entered the week ranked 35th in the nation in total rebounds and fifth with 4.3 offensive rebounds per contest before pulling down five at Ripon on Tuesday.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
