Lake Forest College basketball player Brian Madson was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his performance in two conference victories in the last seven days.
Madson, a junior forward, scored 11 points and pulled down 6 rebounds in the team's 91-74 victory at Monmouth College on Saturday. He was one of five players to score in the double digits for Lake Forest.
The Foresters defeated Carroll University at home on Wednesday, 75-64, with Madson leading the team. He posted 22 points on the evening, 9 rebounds, and a career-high 6 blocked shots, the second highest recorded in team history.
Madson ranks third on the team with 10.7 points per game this season and leads the squad with 6.1 rebounds per contest.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Madson also earned the award earlier this season, in addition to once his freshman year.
