Eight Foresters were among the 20 players in the field as Lake Forest hosted the Illinois Handball Association Joe Ardito Contenders over the weekend.
Three Lake Forest players reached the quarterfinals in the Open Division. Collin Peters and Cameron Lowe defeated their round of 16 opponents in tiebreaker fashion before falling in the quarters. Dylan Schmitt also came out on top in his first match before being edged out 15-12, 15-11 by the eventual champion.
Forester Connor Hudziak won twice on the weekend, prevailing in the Open Division's round of 32 and in the B Division round of 16. Zach Dybal also posted a victory in the B round of 16 while senior Majesty Umoye won in the C Division semifinals.
The Foresters' next tournament will be the Milwaukee Classic, which will be played at the Wisconsin Athletic Club in West Allis, Wisconsin, December 3-5.
