Lake Forest College seniors Devin Peters and Anthony Sullivan teamed up to finish second at the Illinois Handball Association State Doubles Tournament over the weekend.
Peters and Sullivan, who were semifinalists in the Open Division of the U.S. Handball Association National Collegiate Championships a week earlier, had to post a comeback victory to reach Sunday's final. After dropping the first game 21-19, they took the second 21-15 and the third 11-7. They were then defeated 21-9, 21-16 in the championship by Lake Forest alumni Mike and Dave Munson.
The only other current Foresters competing at the event were junior Collin Peters and freshman Zach Dybal, who were eliminated in the quarterfinal round.
The tournament was the final competition on Lake Forest's 2021-22 schedule. Sullivan and Devin Peters will be joined by fellow seniors Brendan Coggins and Majesty Umoye at graduation in May.
