Junior Yaneli Guajardo now owns seven of the 20 fastest women's 6-kilometer times in program history after finishing in 23:20.5 at the University of Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational on Saturday.
Guajardo placed 54th out of 419 competitors in the race and in a pack of seven runners crossing the finish line in a 2.2-second span. Her time ranks 20th in team annals. Freshman Madeline Morland was next on the team and 109th overall in 24:03.2 and sophomore Ellen Szostak was 123rd with a time of 24:15.0. Each of the Foresters' top five runners placed among the top 150 in the field with senior Ariane Balaram in 137th (24:22.8) and freshman Anna Mollnhuber finishing ten spots later (24:30.0).
Senior Philip Wilson led Lake Forest and was 76th in the 452-man field with an 8-kilometer time of 26:13.2, which ranks 21st in program history. Sophomore Christian Reyes finished 150th in 27:03.0 and senior Dillon Rice 235th with a time of 28:03.7. Senior Aiden Pratt and sophomore Mathieu Norcross rounded out the team's top five.
The Forester women placed 14th and the men 25th with 34 schools listed in each of the team standings.Washington University in St. Louis was the champion on the women's side and North Central College for the men.
Lake Forest's next meet is the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday, November 2. Knox College will be hosting the event at Oak Run Golf Course in Dahinda, Illinois.
