Tamlyn Tills Inducted into Milwaukee Lutheran High School Hall of Fame

Lake Forest College Head Women's Basketball Coach and Associate Head Women's Golf Coach Tamlyn Tlls was inducted into the Milwaukee Lutheran High School Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the Wisconsin Athletic Club on Saturday.

Tills, who graduated from the school in 1978, was joined by several family and friends at the event, which included a breakfast and speaches by each of the eight inductees. The Milwaukee Lutheran football team hosted Whitnall High School the night before and the inductees were honored on the field at halftime.

from Tills' hall of fame bio...

If there was such a thing as an all-time greatest athlete at Milwaukee Lutheran, Tills would be in the running for the award. She earned 11 varsity letters and was named to four all-conference teams. She was named Second Team All-Metro Conference in volleyball in 1976 and, a year later, landed a spot on the first team. In basketball, she was a first team selection in consecutive years, 1977 and 1978. During her high school career as a Red Knight, Tills was a key contributor to two state championships in volleyball (1975 and 1977), one in basketball (1977), and one in softball (1978). She still holds myriad of records, especially in basketball. Despite 40 years passing since her last game, Tills is still the girls basketball program's all-time leading scorer with 1,011 career points and 463 two-point field goals made. In addition, she ranks third in team history with 209 assists and 84 steals and remains the record-holder for assists in a season (113) and game (10).

After graduating from Milwaukee Lutheran Tills attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where her success in athletics continued. She was a two-time All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection in basketball and helped lead the Eagles to an Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women national title in 1981 after finishing as the runner-up the previous season. As she did in high school, Tills surpassed 1,000 career points without the existence of a three-point line. She was inducted into the UW-La Crosse Hall of Fame in 1995.

Tills has continued to embody excellence as a coach. In 1985 he took her Divine Savior of Holy Angels volleyball team to the state tournament and won it. She is a member of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Victory Club, having amassed more than 200 wins in her high school coaching career. In 2014 Tills was a featured speaker for basketball coaches at the NCAA Convention. Set to begin her 11th year at Lake Forest College, she was the Midwest Conference Coach of the Year in two sports in 2017-18 (golf and basketball).
