The 2015 season is the sixth for Joe Brazil on the Forester coaching staff. He works with the team's entire defense after specifically coaching the outfielders during his first five years.
Lake Forest has posted a 100-78-1 overall record and a 49-9 mark in Midwest Conference play during Brazil's first five seasons with the program. The team has finished first in the MWC South Division standings in all but one of his seasons on staff and captured a conference championship in 2014. Forester outfielders have earned six All-Midwest Conference South Division honors and combined for 470 putouts and 50 assists during his five seasons.
Brazil graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and emphasis in law enforcement. That year he also served as a criminal justice intern with the La Crosse Sheriff's Department.
Brazil's coaching career began at the youth level in his hometown of Fremont, Wisconsin, where he coached both softball and wrestling. He has also served as an official in both sports.
He is also an account manager for Ecologic Industries in Waukegan, Illinois, and lives in Zion with his wife Cheryl and their daughter Addison.
