The Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 2-1 at Knox College on Saturday. Forester senior Mahir Mameledzija scored to tie the score early in the second half.
Mameledzija's goal was his team-high 13th of the season and was assisted by fellow senior Jordan Hartman at 48:11.
Knox had taken the early lead with a score at the 12:07 mark and the Prairie Fire netted the game winner on a penalty kick with 29:58 to play in the contest.
The Foresters had a 13-11 edge in shots in the game and committed just 13 fouls to Knox's 26 in the contest.
Lake Forest fell to 9-6-0 overall this season and all six losses have been by a single goal. The Foresters are also 6-1-0 in Midwest Conference play. Knox raised its overall record to 12-3 and league mark to 5-2-0.
The Foresters will continue conference play next weekend with home games against Monmouth College on Saturday (Parents Day) and Illinois College on Sunday. Both games will begin at 1:30 p.m.
