The Lake Forest College football team scored touchdowns on five of their first six drives and coasted to a 41-10 victory at Knox College on Saturday.

The Foresters racked up 377 yards of offense and 217 return yards in the contest. Junior wide receiver A.J. Jackson accounted for 255 all-purpose yards, catching five passes for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns and adding a 47-yard punt return and two 30-yard kickoff returns.

Junior quarterback Tre Stewart posted the 10th-highest single-game quarterback efficiency rating in program history at 213.68. He completed 13 of 19 passes for 250 yards and the two touchdowns to Jackson. Stewart also added 25 yards rushing on four attempts.

Junior Armani Brown led Lake Forest in rushing with 45 yards on 11 carries. Senior Damon Bonds added 39 yard on the ground and both tailbacks scored twice.

The Forester defense allowed just one Prairie fire touchdown on the afternoon. Senior linebacker Gavin Stapley led the unit with a career-high nine tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage. Senior defensive lineman Jamari Tansmore and senior linebacker Mathew Koziol were next with eight and seven tackles, respectively. Lake Forest forced three turnovers, including the third and fourth interceptions of the young season for junior cornerback Dante Esposito. He ended the opening drive of the game with an interception at the Forester 10 yard line and returned it 61 yards.

Brown capped off the visitors' opening possession with a 12-yard touchdown run, Bonds added a 3-yard score, and Jackson outjumped a defender at the goal line on a 45-yard reception in the first quarter. Brown reached the end zone again from six yards out and Jackson got behind the defense for a 37-yarder in the second, making the score 34-3 at halftime. A 2-yard touchdown run by Bonds in the third closed out the Foresters' scoring on the day.

Lake Forest is now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Midwest Conference play. Knox fell to 0-2, both overall and in the league.

After a weekend off, the Foresters will host Cornell College for their Homecoming game on Saturday, October 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
