The National Football Foundation recently announced that Lake Forest College senior safety Aidan Price is among the semifinalists for the 2012 William V. Campbell Trophy, endowed by HealthSouth, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation.
The organization lists 147 players from all collegiate levels as candidates for the 2012 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards. Among them are 41 NCAA Division III student-athletes, including Price.
Candidates for the awards must be in their final season of eligibility with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2. They must also be a starter or significant contributor on their team and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship.
Price has helped lead the Foresters to a 7-1 overall record and a perfect 7-0 mark in Midwest Conference play so far this season. He has started all eight contests and ranks third on the team and tied-for-ninth in the league with 57 tackles. He is a two-time Academic All-Midwest Conference honoree and was a member of the 2011 Lake Forest College All-Sportsmanship Team.
