Lake Forest College women's golfer Amanda Lee was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead her team to a pair of victories in the previous seven days.
Lee, a freshman, tied for first place at Elmhurst College's Bluejay Invitational on Tuesday with a season-best round of 77. Her round on the 5,823-yard, par-72 course at Oak Brook Golf Club in Oak Brook, Illinois, included 14 pars, including nine in a row on holes 9-17. The score was also the second-lowest in the program's four-year history. Lake Forest won the event by a dozen strokes with a score of 336.
The Foresters were also victorious 343-397 in their dual match with visiting Benedictine University on Friday at Lake Bluff Golf Club. Lee finished both halves of the 5,823-yard, par-72 course in 43 shots and carded a birdie on the 482-yard, par-5 15th hole.
After three events (four rounds) this season Lee ranks second on the squad with an 18-hole scoring average of 85.25.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
