With a stellar three rounds at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, men's golf sophomore Jack Dwyer was named Forester Athlete of the Week. The SLIAC Championships were held over two days, April 26th and 27th, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dwyer finished as the individual runner-up for the Foresters; the team placed third overall. It was Lake Forest's and Dwyer's first appearance in the SLIAC tournament since the Foresters joined the Conference for the 2019-20 season; the 2020 championship tournament was canceled due to COVID.
Dwyer finished eight strokes behind the champion from Webster University. He was one of just two players at the event to shoot in the 70s in all three rounds.
Over the two day game, he finished his three rounds with seven birdies, which ranked third in the field. He was also tied-for-third with 30 pars, including 10 on Tuesday, and he ranked among the top three in the 59-player field in scoring on par-3s, par-4s, and par-5s.
Dwyer is now tied-for-third in program history for 54-hole performances with his final score of 226.
The Athletic Department selects Forester Athletes of the Week on Thursdays.
