The 2010-11 season is the third for Lisa Smith on the Forester staff and her 27th in the coaching profession.
Smith spent the previous 12 years as the head coach at Lake Park High School in Roselle, Illinois. She posted a 193-162 overall record and led her team to an Upstate Eight Athletic Conference title in 2007. The Lancers also reached the Illinois High School Association State Super-Sectional final in 2003 with Lake Forest College graduates Andrea Durante and Tracy Rainey on the team.
Prior to her time at Lake Park, Smith was the junior varsity coach at Elk Grove High School for a decade and the freshman and sophomore coach at Forest View High School for two seasons.
Smith earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Illinois State University in 1984 and a master's degree in the same field from the University of Illinois at Chicago five years later.
She has been a teacher since graduating from Illinois State and is currently a social
emotional disorders and learning disabilities teacher at Southeast Alternative School in Naperville, Illinois, a position she has held since 1989.
