The Lake Forest College men's tennis team suffered its first
loss of the 2010 season Sunday morning (March 7), a 7-0 decision
against the University of Connecticut. The Foresters are now 4-1 on
the year while the NCAA Division I Huskies raised their spring
record to 1-3.
UConn won 8-2 at #1 and 8-4 at the other two spots in the doubles
lineup.
The closest singles match of the contest was at #2 where Forester
junior Elliot Muth (New York, N.Y./Hill School) took his opponent
to a tiebreak in the first set before falling 7-6 (7-3), 6-0.
Lake Forest has four more contests to play - all against fellow
NCAA Division III members - during the team's Spring Break trip to
Orlando, Florida. Next on the schedule is a match against Ursinus
College Tuesday evening (March 9) at 6:30 (EST).
