Lake Forest College hosted the annual Illinois Handball Association Contenders Tournament over the weekend and Forester sophomore Anthony Collado rattled off four consecutive victories to claim the title.
Collado defeated Forester junior John Snider 15-3, 15-1 in the round of 16. He added a 15-9, 15-2 victory in the quarterfinals and a 21-9, 21-5 triumph in the semifinals before defeating Riley Kloss 21-8, 21-13 in the championship match.
Snider and Forester seniors Sam Herrmann and Rick Arko posted victories in the opening round before falling in the round of 16. Senior Eric Matiasek was also eliminated in the round of 16 after a first round bye.
Lake Forest will host the Women's Collegiate Doubles Tournament next weekend.
