A day after being named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week, Lake Forest College football player Joey Valdivia made his second appearance of the season on the D3football.com Team of the Week.

Valdivia, a senior running back, carried the ball 30 times for 268 yards and five touchdowns in the Foresters' 42-26 triumph at Lawrence University Saturday night. He scored at least one touchdown in every quarter with an extra in the fourth to help clinch the victory.

It was the third time in as may games that Valdivia ran for at least 220 yards and scored three or more total touchdowns this season. He leads the nation with 261.3 rushing yards, 291.67 all-purpose yards, and 24 points per game and his 72 points and 12 total touchdowns are also NCAA Division III bests.

Lake Forest gained a school record 623 total yards Saturday night and, with 515.7 total yards, 295.3 rushing yards, and 42.3 points per game, the Foresters are on pace to break the program records in all three categories.

The D3football Team of the Week is comprised of a starting lineup on offense and defense as well as a kicker, punter, returner, and special teams player. Valdivia also earned the honor after the 2016 and 2017 season openers and Forester players have now made the list 25 times since 1999.
