Foresters Fall at Illinois College

Foresters Fall at Illinois College

The Lake Forest College football team suffered a 49-6 loss at Illinois College on Saturday. A 49-yard touchdown run by sophomore tailback Charlie Quinn accounted for the Foresters' only points of the game.

Quinn finished the game with 88 yards on a dozen carries. His score trimmed the Blueboys lead to 21-6 with nine seconds to play in the opening quarter.

Illinois College started the scoring on a touchdown reception with 8:12 to play in the quarter and returned an interception for a touchdown 11 seconds later. Blueboy quarterbacks threw for five more touchdowns in the game.

Junior wideout Jared Russ was the Foresters leading receiver with 42 yards on four receptions.

Junior safety Pat Clark led the Lake Forest defense with eight tackles and junior linebacker Austin Van Meter was next with seven, including a sack.

Lake Forest fell to 2-5 overall on the season and 1-2 in Midwest Conference South Division play. Illinois College is now 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the division.

The Foresters will travel to Cornell College next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
