Senior Sydney Wyatt racked up four more hits, including a pair of home runs, as the Foresters fell 9-2 to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point before blanking the University of Minnesota-Morris 11-0 in five innings in Florida on Friday.

Wyatt, who is now hitting .455 (20-for-44) on the year, gave her team the lead over the Pointers when she led off the bottom of the first inning with her first home run of the season.

After Stevens Point took control of the game with a five-run third inning, the Foresters got their only other tally of the contest on a sacrifice fly by junior Nicole Schussler in the bottom of the frame.

The Pointers plated a pair of runs in the fourth and two more in the seventh to close out the scoring.

After being out-hit 15-4 in their first game of the day, the Foresters had a 12-3 advantage in that category against Minnesota-Morris.

Wyatt, junior Hannah Kalnicky, and senior Riley Frisbie accounted for three base hits apiece and they combined to drive in the first six runs of the contest. Kalnicky singled in Wyatt and scored on a Frisbie double in the top of the first inning and Wyatt belted a grand slam in the second.

Junior Shaye Gauthier hit her first homer of the year in the third and run-scoring singles by Wyatt in the fourth and Frisbie in the fifth closed out the scoring.

Sophomore pitcher Meghan Joyce allowed just three hits while striking out a career-high seven without issuing a walk in her first shutout as a Forester.

Lake Forest is now 8-6 on the year. Stevens Point improved to 6-3 and it was the first game of the season for Minnesota-Morris.

The Foresters will close out their Spring Break trip against Bethel University and Penn State University-Behrend on Saturday.
