Lake Forest College softball player Kayla Borgra was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead the team to four victories in as many games last weekend.
Borgra, a junior outfielder, went 3-for-8 with a double, home run, four runs scored and three runs batted in during the Foresters' doubleheader sweep at Illinois College on Saturday. The visitors won the opener 8-2 and game two 11-3 in six innings.
Lake Forest also recorded a sweep at Monmouth College on Sunday, taking the opener 7-6 and game two 8-0 in five innings. Borgra was 4-for-5 with three doubles, three runs, and three RBI on the day.
Borgra batted .538 and posted a 1.077 slugging percentage in the four games combined. Five of her seven hits went for extra bases and she scored and drove in at least one run in each contest. Borgra raised her batting average on the season to .422 and she leads the 2014 Foresters with six doubles and 17 runs scored in 13 games.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
