Lake Forest College swimmer Emily Bowens and diver Heath Ogawa were named Midwest Conference Performers of the Week on Tuesday for their performance at the Phoenix Fall Classic over the weekend.

Bowens, a senior, finished Saturday's 100-backstroke in 1:01.99, good for 11th at the highly-competitive meet. It was also the fastest time in the conference this year in that event and her 2:14.17 in the 200-backstroke on Sunday was the MWC's second-best time this season. Lake Forest climbed to the top of the MWC rankings in the 400-freestyle relay with Sunday's time of 3:49.78 and Bowens was the team's leadoff swimmer.

Ogawa, a sophomore, won both diving events by a wide margin. His 484.45 points off the 1-meter board was 51 points head of the runner-up and he won the 3-meter competition by nearly 100 points with a score of 542.75.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information. Bowens and Ogawa also swept the awards three weeks earlier and Ogawa claimed the honor twice last season.
