The Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 6-3 at Monmouth College on Friday. Forester freshman John Snider was victorious in both of his matches.
Snider and fellow freshman Jordan Stoler pulled out a 9-7 victory at #3 doubles to trim the Fighting Scots' lead to 2-1 entering singles play.
Monmouth won at #3 and #2 singles to extend the lead to 4-1, but a 6-2, 6-4 triumph by Forester senior John Adams at #1 and a 6-3, 6-0 victory at #5 by Snider made the score 4-3. A three-set win at #4 clinched the win for the home team and the Scots added a victory at #6 for the final score.
Lake Forest fell to 6-6 on the season while Monmouth raised its record to 6-5. The Foresters are now competing in the Midwest Conference North Division so the match does not count in the league standings.
The Foresters will begin conference play at fellow MWC North Division member Ripon next Friday night at 8:00.
