Sean McNicholas is in his second season on the Lake Forest staff and fifth year in coaching. In 2009 he worked primarily on student-athlete recruiting and statistical analysis. He will coach tight ends this season.
McNicholas’ previous coaching experience followed his six-year minor league football career with the Chicago Heights Broncos, where he played cornerback and safety and returned kicks. He was a team captain and was selected twice as an All-League defensive back. After retiring as a player, he coached defensive backs and special teams for two seasons. McNicholas has also coached youth football in Highland Park, Illinois.
He graduated from DePaul University in 1980 with a degree in psychology. He competed in intercollegiate golf and rugby while in college.
McNicholas is also managing principal of a retained executive search firm in the Chicago area.
He and his wife Leslie live in Lake Forest.
