Bill Lund

Bill Lund

  • Title:
    WR Coach/Asst. Special Teams Coordinator

Bill Lund joins the Forester staff in 2017 as a wide receivers coach and assistant special teams coordinator. He is in his 21st year of coaching at the collegiate level.

Lund spent last season as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach at Saginaw Valley State University and the previous three years holding the same positions at Hope College. At Hope he coordinated the top kickoff, kickoff return, and punt return units in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 2013 and 2014.

Prior to his time at Hope, Lund coached for a year each at North Park University (2012), Columbia University (2011), and St. Norbert College (2010). He helped the Green Knights capture a Midwest Conference title in 2010 as the team's defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.

One of the more notable stops in Lund's coaching career was a two-year stint at the University of Buffalo, where he helped lead the 2008 Bulls to a Mid-America Conference title and a trip to the International Bowl. While at Buffalo he was involved with coaching or recruiting several players who went on to play in the NFL, including Oakland Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack.

Lund also spent two seasons as the defensive coordinator at Carleton College, helped lead Colby College to a 33-15 record and a New England Small College Athletic Conference title during his six years the school, and helped restart the football program at St. Anselm College from 1997-99.

A graduate of MWC member Lawrence University, Lund was a four-year player and All-MWC selection for the Vikings. Ten years later he earned a master's degree from United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama.
