Lake Forest College football player Charlie Quinn was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead the team to a 27-6 victory at Knox College on Saturday.
Quinn, a sophomore tailback, rushed 23 times for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the contest. He scored on a 13-yard carry on the game's first play from scrimmage and added a 3-yard touchdown run just three minutes later to stake the Foresters to a 13-0 lead. Quinn, whose longest run of the day was a 49-yarder in the fourth quarter, finished off that drive with a 16-yard touchdown.
Quinn's yardage total ranks eighth in recorded team history and is the highest output by a Forester in more than two seasons. He is the fifth player in program history to run for three touchdowns in a game and the first since 2004.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
