The Lake Forest College women's soccer team traveled to St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana, and returned home with a 2-2 tie.
The Foresters led 1-0 at the half with freshman Anna Hoffman scoring her third goal of the season. Sophomore Greta Girard set up the score, attacking the middle of the Belle's defense before finding Hoffman all alone at the top of the right side of the box. Hoffman took it in and beat the goalkeeper, tucking her shot just inside the far post.
The visitors doubled their lead with just 11:16 remaining in the contest. Senior Paityn Tabor hit an arching shot from 25 yards out that slipped in under the crossbar and over the outstretched goalie. It was her first score of the season.
St. Mary's came back with a pair of goal in the next four minutes to secure the tie.
The Foresters finished the game with a 12-8 advantage in shots and had four corner kick opportunities to the Belles' two.
The tie leaves Lake Forest with a 2-3-2 record. St. Mary's is now 0-4-3.
The next game on the Foresters' schedule is a 7:00 p.m. contest Monday night at Elmhurst College.
