Lake Forest College women's soccer player Michelle Greeneway was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday after becoming just the 22nd player in NCAA Division III women's soccer history to score 100 goals.
Greeneway, a senior forward, accounted for two of the Foresters' four goals in a shutout of Lawrence University at home on Sunday. She headed in a corner kick from senior defender Sam Hillis in the 31st minute to give the home team a 1-0 lead. It was her seventh official game-winning goal this season and the 28th of her career. Greeneway also closed out the scoring and reached the 100-goal milestone on another header, assisted by fellow senior forward Holly Lesperance, with 4:12 to play in the contest.
Lake Forest's all-time leading scorer is now tied for 19th in NCAA Division III history in goals and ranks 22nd with 232 career points. She has 58 points on 26 goals and six assists this season.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information. Greeneway had also earned the award once as a freshman, four times last year, and once earlier this season.
